Sheringham East and West Beaches

There are 2 glorious sandy beaches in Sheringham and they are both blue flag beaches. The Blue Flag beach award is widely considered the gold standard for beaches. Awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education, the Blue Flag is internationally recognised.

Sheringham West Beach

Sheringham West is a rocky beach that disappears at high tide. When the tide is out, there are vast expanses of flat golden sand and shallow water, which is very suitable for young children and families. The colourful beach huts that line the promenade make this an idyllic setting. It has facilities such as toilets and showers, as well as cafés and free parking close by. There is a section patrolled by RNLI Lifeguards during the main holiday season. Dogs are allowed on the promenade all year on leads and on the beach itself from 1st October to the 30th April only

Beach Safety

The coast is an exciting place to be – but it’s easier than you think to get into trouble in the water on our rocky groynes and soft sandy cliffs. Do not climb the rocks or cliffs. Avoid digging into the cliffs or at the base of the cliffs as well.
