On Tuesday 23rd October Town Mayor Madeleine Ashcroft and Deputy Mayor Liz Withington were honoured to attend the launch of Sheringham at war- 100 years on at Sheringham Museum. The book and linked exhibition, which has come about as a result of the Sheringham World War 1 Centenary Commemoration and Remembrance Project is a collaboration by Tim Groves, Cllr Peter Farley, Sheringham Museum, Iain Turner, Jane Crossen and Martyn Barr. It is also a very fitting and moving tribute to the men and boys who were lots to Sheringham. It reveals their everyday lives and the families left behind, making them people, rather than names on a war memorial. Sheringham was also extremely proud to have General Lord Dannatt, who has written a moving tribute as a forward to the book to launch this significant project.
