Sheringham Town Council are pleased to announce the appointment of Sheringham Town Council of a new Town Clerk, Ben Bix.

Twenty years after starting his local government career at Breckland Council in Dereham, Ben has returned to Norfolk to be part of the exciting new leadership team at Sheringham Town Council.

Formerly from Mannington, Ben attended Aylsham High School, and has degrees from the University of East Anglia in Politics and Qualifying Law.

Having spent most of his childhood weekends in Sheringham, Ben has a great affinity for the town. His father attended Sheringham High School when it first opened, his two nieces are current pupils, and his mother lives in Anchor Close.

Of his appointment, Ben said “this is a tremendous opportunity to be progressive, and for Sheringham Town Council to start on its journey to be recognised nationally as a Quality Gold Council” “The Mayor and Deputy Mayor have set out their ambitions, and I am proud that the Council has chosen me”, “we’ll work together to reach out to our community and build positive relationships and demonstrate the value the council brings to the town”

Ben joins Sheringham Town Council from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, in Surrey, where he was Governance and Democratic Services Manager.
