Former Sheringham Town Council Clerk, Cherry Ashton, passed away at home in Sheringham Thursday 10th October, aged 70 years.
Cherry retired from the role as Clerk in 2010 after 23 years working for Sheringham Town Council. Cherry followed a family tradition stretching back to 1945, as her father served as Sheringham Town Clerk himself for 30 years. She began her employment as a Clerical Assistant in 1986, later becoming Clerk in 1996. During her time, Cherry worked alongside 6 Mayors and more than 60 Councillors.
